Change is NOT a failure and other job change attitudes

We explore the job change process and tools. But first, we kick off by addressing attitudes that may hold you back.

Change is NOT a failure, but failure to change might be. This was said by John Wooden – one of the most successful college basketball coaches in history. Wooden’s UCLA Bruins still hold the record for the most COLLEGE basketball championships.

So if change is so important, why is it so difficult. In particular, why is it so difficult to change jobs. As we will discuss, on average, people hold on to jobs longer than they should. All month long, we will discuss job change. We will get into some of the mechanics of job change, like preparing for job change, tools to help you decide, and job negotiation.

But first - My name is Jeff Hulett, I am a decision confidence builder. I am a behavioral economist and have been in banking and financial services most of my career. I am also a faculty member at James Madison University, and I lead Personal Finance Reimagined – a decision-making and financial education platform.
